Holidu has decided to find out which are the best beaches in the UK, creating the perfect British bucket list to satisfy your sandy beach desires this summer.

The British summer has been providing us with some glorious weather recently, and with the uncertainty surrounding travel abroad still looming, this could be the perfect chance for us to focus our attention back towards what our own country has to offer. Britain is home to some of the most beautiful natural landscapes, and its beaches are not to be missed.

That’s why Holidu, the search engine for holiday rentals, has decided to find out which are the best beaches in the UK, creating the perfect British bucket list to satisfy your sandy beach desires this summer.

2. Three Cliffs Bay – Carmarthenshire, Wales | 4.9 – 280 reviews
3. Upton Towans Beach – Cornwall, England | 4.9 – 230 reviews
4. Mellon Udrigle Beach – Highlands, Scotland | 4.9 – 146 reviews
5. Porthcothan Beach – Cornwall, England | 4.9 – 143 reviews
6. Caswell Bay Beach – Carmarthenshire, Wales | 4.9 – 110 reviews
7. Machir Bay – Isle of Islay, Scotland | 4.9 – 109 reviews
8. Woolacombe Beach – Devon, England | 4.8 – 1825 reviews

Methodology: Holidu searched the Google Maps database for the word 'beach' in all of the coastal provinces of the country. Of the more than 1500 results initially obtained, they manually filtered the bad results. Holidu made a ranking based on Google ratings prioritising beaches with a higher average rating. Beaches with less than 100 ratings have not been considered to ensure the reliability of the scores and popularity of the beaches.
