2.7 million passengers at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport

The airport enjoyed a significant increase in passenger numbers last year. Passenger traffic increased by 9 percent to 2.667 million passengers in 2015.

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has grown strongly in its passenger numbers. Nearly 2.7 million travelers passed through the international airport in the Hunsruck-region to destinations throughout Europe in 2015 – an increase of nine per cent compared to the year before.

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has a lot to offer: Travelers can choose between holiday destinations like Mallorca, Crete and Lisbon, business people fly to London, Rome or Milan. The offer is well received: The airport enjoyed a significant increase in passenger numbers last year. Passenger traffic increased by 9 percent to 2.667 million passengers in 2015.

“Regarding these numbers, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport belongs to the fastest growing airports concerning the passenger business,” says Airport-CEO Markus Bunk. The airport has already reacted to this very good development during the past year, for example with new dining options in the terminal as well as with building up a play area for families with children.

In summer 2016, passengers can choose from 50 destinations from all over Europe and northern africa. Flights are offered by the airlines Ryanair, Wizz Air and SunExpress. “I assume that we can maintain the high level of passenger numbers this year as well,” says Bunk.

The airport sees potential for further growth: “We have the capacity, highly qualified personnel and the airport can be approached easily and quickly,” says John Kohlsaat, Head of Sales at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. He sees a good chance to extend the offer at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, for instance to destinations at the eastern Mediterranean.
