Aeroflot’s subsidiary ORENAIR launches unique China-to-Russia flight programme

The first Kunming-Moscow flight, 100% full, was executed on the long-range Boeing 777-200 ER on 10 June, 2015.

MOSCOW – ORENAIR (ORB), an Aeroflot group subsidiary, introduces a unique flight programme linking China and Russia. The Russian air carrier will operate flights from three Chinese cities Kunming, Changsha, Nanjing to Russia’s capital. Previously, direct regular air connection between the three Mainland destinations and Moscow didn’t exist.

The first Kunming-Moscow flight, 100% full, was executed on the long-range Boeing 777-200 ER on 10 June, 2015. A selection of hot dishes pertaining to Russian and Chinese cuisine was served to passengers on board. Remarkably, the menu featured abundance of green tea and conspicuous absence of tomato juice, highly popular with Russian clients.

Orenair operated a similar flight from Changsha on 11 June, 2015, and 14 June, 2015 will mark the first flight from Nanjing. Flight service from the Heavenly Empire will be provided weekly up to late October 2015.

“Currently, many Russian air companies have excessive capacity, therefore, the enormous Chinese market gains special appeal to us. On the other side, our services and experience present to Chinese tourists and tour operators an excellent opportunity for outbound tourism from inner China”, noted Viktor Zyukin, ORENAIR CEO.

Kunming ) a.k.a “a City of Eternal Spring” is situated in south-western China, with a population of 6 million people. The city houses several universities, museums, art galleries as well as boasting a famous bronze temple erected under the Ming dynasty.
