Carrera Systems Limited announced that South Africa based, TICIT Systems (Pty) Limited will be distributor for its successful TravelPower system. Carrera Systems at the same time took a 30% stake in TICIT Systems.
Ian Gross, Managing Director of TICIT Systems stated: We see the Southern African market as being ripe for new technology at affordable prices. It`s an emerging market with high demand for travel and tourism. We feel that by investing now, we will see the benefits over the coming years. Gross has more than 15 years experience in the Travel Industry rising from the front line as a Travel Advisor to several years as a respected IT Consultant within the travel environment.
We have seen immediate success with the signing of our first client, AWL Travel of Johannesburg, commented Carrera Systems Managing Director, John Richardson. The client has already gone live with the software and we quickly adapted it for the specific needs of the South African market.
This is the second significant investment made by Carrera Systems this year, with the acquisition of Applica Limited – a specialist web development company – completed earlier this year. We have plans for further international expansion via distributors as well as through organic growth and more acquisitions, stated Richardson.
