Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif said the effect of Sharm el-Sheikh blasts on the Egyptian economy is limited.

Nazif added the Egyptian economy is diversified and does not primarily depend on tourism noting that tourism is just one of the sources of national income. He pointed out that the economic resources of the Egyptian economy are numerous including industry, agriculture, oil, Suez Canal revenues, exports and tourism.

Nazif noted that the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh has been relatively affected by the blasts, yet the other tourist attraction areas such as Hurghada, Luxor, Cairo and Aswan have not been affected.
