Airfare and Yapta brings Customer Confidence in Data Security

Yapta currently serves more than 6,500 enterprise customers in more than 20 different countries while monitoring over $7.5 billion in travel spend.

SEATTLE – Yapta, the leading provider of airfare and hotel price tracking services, announced that the company has achieved Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) compliance status, validating its controls and processes that safeguard sensitive customer travel data. The examination by an independent auditing firm provides details on the stringent SOC 2 security standards that make Yapta a trusted partner for enterprise organizations.

“Confidence in a travel partner stems from a combination of trust and reliability – by achieving SOC 2 compliance we’re demonstrating our commitment to building confidence within the travel industry,” said James Filsinger, President & CEO of Yapta. “Our customers already have the confidence that they are getting the best value on their travel, and now they can also have the confidence that their data is secure.”

Yapta currently serves more than 6,500 enterprise customers in more than 20 different countries while monitoring over $7.5 billion in travel spend. As part of the compliance process, an independent third-party audit firm confirmed that Yapta’s security policies, measures and procedures rigorously protect the travel itinerary data observed and managed by Yapta’s IQ technology.

The examination focused on Yapta’s adherence to the Trust Service Principles and Criteria set forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  The AICPA created the SOC guidelines to provide an authoritative and independent benchmark for service organizations to demonstrate implementation of proper control procedures and practices.

“Yapta will continue to make the investments necessary to protect all client information – including future SOC 2 examinations,” Filsinger said. “Data security is an on-going effort, so we’ll take every measure to ensure we’re meeting enterprise-grade data security standards.”
