AirPlus facilitates the analysis of individual flight taxes – the first report of its kind in the UK market

AirPlus customers now have the ability to analyse separately all taxes levied on flights tickets including fuel surcharges, aviation taxes such as ADP, and airport and security fees.

LONDON  – Using the AirPlus Information Manager, (AirPlus’ data consolidator, analysis and reporting tool), customers can now report on flight taxes in a way they have never been able to before.

In the past reports on all taxes levied on flights tickets including fuel surcharges, aviation taxes such as ADP, and airport and security fees were grouped together. In the AirPlus Information Manager the taxes were clumped together into an aggregate field called the ‘taxbox’. The new report category enables travel managers to review these items in detail and split out the taxes into their constituent parts.

A closer look at the data highlights that it is well worth it. On average, 11.5 percent of the costs for flight tickets are made up of taxes, for economy class flights it is even 28 percent. This was one of the results of an analysis of flight tickets settled by AirPlus.

New standard reports in the AirPlus Information Manager
The AirPlus Information Manager has been extended to include three new standard reports for the cost block of flight fees and taxes. In addition, amounts can be categorised in accordance with the recipients including government agencies, airports or airlines, and paid fees and taxes can be allocated to routes and airlines.

With immediate effect, the new reports are provided for free to all users of the AirPlus Information Manager.

Yael Klein, Managing Director of AirPlus in the UK says “this level of tax reporting has never before been seen in the UK market. We wanted to make sure that our customers had the best visibility of where their money was being spent. We are delighted to be able to help our clients in this way”.
