The cheapest vaccination across all seven clinics was Typhoid, with a typical price of £35.00 and a minimum price of £24.00, available at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases. However, the Typhoid vaccination along with Hepatitis A and B, Cholera and Tetanus, Polio and Diphtheria (Td/IPV) are all offered free of charge at NHS clinics.
According to a recent survey, 47% of gap year travellers have left home without the correct vaccinations required for their destination, a fact that highlights the need for UK travellers to be vigilant about necessary immunisations. To help tourists prepare in advance and factor in the costs of injections, Airport Parking and Hotels (APH.Com) has updated their research on holiday vaccination costs at various clinics across the UK.
The research compares the costs of the seven most administered travel vaccinations at seven different providers across the UK, including any extra administrative or appointment fees that may be charged.
Across all eight clinics, the most expensive vaccinations were found to be Yellow Fever and Rabies, with Yellow Fever the most expensive vaccination for all clinics except for Doctor Today which charges £105.00 for the Cholera inoculation, compared to £80.00 for Yellow Fever and £70.00 for Rabies. The cheapest clinic for Yellow Fever was MASTA Clinic.
Most of the clinics surveyed were also found to charge an initial consultation fee, with Doctor Today charging £45.00 and Well-Travelled Clinics charging £15.00 respectively. However the fee is refunded from the final vaccination cost. NHS, Trailfinders and City Doc charge no fee at all and the MASTA Clinic and the Hospital for Tropical Diseases charge a non-refundable consultation fee of £20.00 and £15.00 respectively.
