Algarve Promotion Bureau appoints Lemongrass Marketing to oversee UK & Irish PR campaign

Over the coming year the Algarve is planning to raise its profile as a diverse destination with year-round appeal.

Lemongrass Marketing has been appointed by the Algarve Promotion Bureau as their PR representative for the UK. With immediate effect, Lemongrass Marketing will be responsible for increasing brand awareness and promoting this diverse region in the UK and Ireland.

Over the coming year the Algarve is planning to raise its profile as a diverse destination with year-round appeal. The focus of the campaign is on the promotion of the region’s endless alternatives to sun, sand and surf holidays. Lemongrass Marketing has been tasked with highlighting the Algarve’s nature, active, rural, cultural, wellness, family, luxury, golf, MICE and gastronomic tourism potential to UK and Irish travellers.

The Algarvian microclimate provides the perfect conditions for active and environmental tourism throughout the year. There are boundless opportunities for sports on land and on water. Regarded as one of the finest golfing destinations in Europe, the Algarve is often visited by elite professionals and is home to over 30 champion standard courses. Throughout the year international tournaments are hosted and play tribute to the variety of courses in the region. Those visitors to the region that like a slower pace can find cultural heritage sights dotted around the region, fabulous food, diverse meeting options and a high quality and diversity in spas. The Algarve is a destination that offers something to every traveller, a USP the new campaign will be promoting in the UK and Ireland.

Of the new relationship with Lemongrass Marketing, Dora Coelho, Executive Director of the Algarve Promotion Bureau, said: “The new diversity campaign is an exciting step in the history of the Algarve Promotion Bureau and something we have been meaning to put emphasis on for a long time.
