Alitalia: in November, passenger revenues increased by 5% and travelers by 1.5%

November was the twenty-fifth consecutive month of growth on intercontinental routes.

ROME – Alitalia reported a growth in passenger revenues and number of travelers carried in November. According to the preliminary figures of the eleventh month of this year, the Italian airline recorded 5 per cent increase in passenger revenues, compared to November 2018 and 13.7 per cent growth versus the same month of 2017. 

In the first eleven months of 2019 passenger revenues increased by 1.6 per cent compared to the same period of the 2018 and by 8.8 per cent versus the first eleven months of 2017.

Number of passengers carried also shows positive results in November 2019, when the Italian airline reported 1.5 per cent increase compared to the same period of 2018 and 6.1 per cent growth versus November 2017.

Alitalia carried 1,676,868 passengers in November 2019 with a load factor equal to 77 per cent, increased by 3.2 percentage points versus the same month of 2018.
 
The intercontinental sector, that reached in November the twenty-fifth consecutive month of revenues increase, continues to drive the overall growth. In the eleventh month of 2019, Alitalia recorded 8.9 per cent increase in long-haul revenues versus November 2018 and an increase by 20.6 per cent versus November 2017.

In the first eleven months of 2019 long-haul revenues increased by 4.9 per cent compared to the same period of the 2018 and by 14.5 per cent versus the first eleven months of 2017.

Passengers on long-haul routes (214,161 travelers carried on intercontinental flights in November) saw a growth by 7.4 per cent versus the same month of 2018 and by 14 per cent compared to November 2017.
