Almost 70,000 visitors at Rimini Fierra for the great international marketplace for tourism business

A 10% increase on the previous edition for TTG Incontri – SIA Guest – Sun. The share of international visitors and exhibitors rises to 20%.

RIMINI – Tourism moves fast worldwide and TTG Incontri, the leading trade fair in Italy and one of the very top in Europe, with a super edition highlighted this dynamism, which the World Tourism Organization calculated with a global growth of 4%.

Inaugurated on Thursday 13th by undersecretary Dorina Bianchi, Rimini Fiera’s great international marketplace (TTG Incontri – SIA Guest and SUN with 3,000 enterprises at the expo), drew  69,207 trade visitors to the sixteen halls, 10% more than the previous edition.

The international profile grew even more, with visitors and exhibitors now representing 20% of the participants. 130 destinations were represented, over a thousand international buyers from 85 countries.

As well as this, there is also the role of TTG Incontri as a strategic partner of the enterprises and tourist destination, which have the opportunity of planning educational tours along with TTG Incontri throughout the year. In fact, 450 international buyers are the key players on visits to Italian regions, both before and after the expo.

The initiative of Rimini Fiera to organize an edition in China was confirmed at TTG Incontri 2016. It will be held at Chengdu, a city in Southwest China, and the period was also announced – October 2017 – in the context of an international conference with the participation of Chinese authorities in the tourism field.

Record-breaking media coverage: over 700 accredited journalists and over 150 million media contacts obtained to date. There was also enormous feedback on the Web. #TTG2016 chalked up over 11 million impressions and on inauguration day was one of three most used trend topics on social networks.

Rimini Fiera chairman Lorenzo Cagnoni comments, “We further boosted our expo leadership in the tourism sector and are ready for new international challenges such as the one in China. I’d also like to add that I am particularly satisfied with the results from an economic point of view and as far as know-how is concerned, to the advantage of the local area’s tourist trade.”

In the hundreds of events programmed, also by exhibitors, the Rimini Fiera marketplace confirmed the directions in which world tourism development is heading: travel is increasingly subject to intermediation and if the front office of this intermediation is constantly growing, the back office requires the complete involvement of human professionalism.

Paolo Audino, International Business manager at Rimini Fiera, confirms, “A clear message emerged from the expos – those who want to be key players on a market that is growing worldwide must be able to understand consumers’ behaviour and be able to put together a proposal able to satisfy them. TTG Incontri responds concretely, proposing the most innovative contents available and one-to-one contacts to establish what is then put online.”

All the proposals found at Rimini Fiera are fully coherent with these concepts.
SIA Guest International Hospitality Exhibition, which for 65 years has offered the best of the hotel trade, this year once again proposed product and service innovations, design trends and advanced training. For trade members, a complete overview from leading enterprises and a qualified program of conferences. Plus the Tende & Tecnica section, new for 2016.

The SUN International Exhibition of Outdoor Products also met with success, with its insight on the great growth in demand for open air tourism and the boom in the mobile home market, with the assertion of the glamping phenomenon, luxury and fascination in open air vacations. Once again this year, the expo was a reference point for the beach enterprise organizations, and hosted discussions on the sector’s hottest issues.

The metaphor of a fast train used to represent the current situation in the world’ tourist industry was physically seen in the great success of the initiative by Trenitalia which, as reported in a note it issued, scheduled ninety extra stops to bring the tourism world to TTG Incontri, “one of the year’s most eagerly awaited expos of international importance”.

The appointment with the tourism expos is at Rimini Fiera from 12th to 14th October 2017.
