American Airlines, Frontier launch new domestic service from MIA

MIA adds four all-new U.S. destinations, additional Atlanta service this week.

MIAMI – Miami International Airport hub carrier American Airlines launched service from MIA to four new domestic destinations, while low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines is launching daily Miami-Atlanta servicε. American’s new daily nonstop flights connect Miami with a lineup of growing U.S. cities ranging from the heartland to the western Rockies: Austin, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; Salt Lake City, Utah; and San Antonio, Texas.

All of AA’s new routes are being operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft and reinforce the airline’s already-strong presence at MIA, with the carrier now offering direct service to 52 U.S. destinations from its Miami hub. Overall, AA connects Miami to more than 100 destinations in the U.S. and around the world. Outbound travelers now have easy access to Austin’s thriving music and technology scene, Utah’s ski slopes and national parks, and much more. Inbound travelers from each of the four new domestic destinations now enjoy direct access to all that Miami has to offer, as well as unrivalled access to Latin America and the Caribbean via MIA’s far-reaching route network.

Frontier Airlines’ new daily nonstop flights from Miami to Atlanta provide MIA customers with a third airline option to Georgia’s capital city. Since launching service at MIA in December, Frontier has quickly expanded its Miami presence to six destinations and 47 weekly flights.

“We welcome Frontier’s new daily Atlanta flights and we’re thrilled to offer our customers direct service to a great lineup of brand new domestic destinations aboard American Airlines,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. “We appreciate the faith that these airline partners continue to show in the Miami market. As they grow their presence at MIA, our customers are reaping the benefits of increased choice and increased access to points across the nation and around the globe.”
