Anuvu achieves STC to deliver inflight connectivity on Airbus A321 for Turkish Airlines

EASA approves Anuvu’s first in-house STC for Airbus narrow-body aircraft.

LOS ANGELES – Anuvu, a leading provider of high-speed connectivity and entertainment solutions for demanding worldwide mobility markets, announces it has obtained a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the installation of its Airconnect Global Ku inflight connectivity (IFC) system onboard Airbus 321 aircraft for Turkish Airlines

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granted approval for the STC, which was developed solely by Anuvu, allowing the company to install core components onboard the Airbus A321, and incorporate server and wireless access point parts. This latest STC from Anuvu enhances the connectivity team’s ability to install the industry-leading Airconnect Global Ku IFC system on one of the world’s most popular aircraft families, the Airbus A320.

Mike Pigott, Anuvu’s Executive Vice President Connectivity, says: “Achieving EASA approval for our STC speaks to our team’s innovation and hard work, especially given the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The joint effort of Anuvu, Profen, and our partners at Turkish Airlines and Turkish Technic is a testament to how high-performing teams can overcome obstacles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Turkish Airlines, providing our Airconnect Global Ku IFC system for the Airbus A321 family, and in conjunction with Anuvu and Profen’s ground teleport infrastructure, they can deliver to passengers the most reliable and high-performing connectivity.”

Çetin Tuğtağ, Turkish Airlines’ Senior Vice President Investment and Asset, says: “Following our Boeing 737 partnership with Anuvu and Profen earlier in the year, we’re pleased that Airconnect Global Ku will soon be available for our customers onboard our A321 family of aircraft. We want to offer our passengers the fastest and most reliable connectivity, and this latest partnership reaffirms our commitment.”

Onder Havuzlu, Profen’s Chief Executive Officer, adds: “Combining our national engineering experience with Anuvu’s IFC expertise and Turkish Technic’s superior maintenance capabilities will enable us to provide secure, high-quality data connectivity solutions for Turkish Airlines and the Turkish commercial aviation market.”

Anuvu’s Airconnect Global Ku solution is an affordable high-speed Internet connectivity product used by the most innovative airlines and installed on over 1,000 aircraft worldwide. The satellite-based solution will enable an extensive entertainment experience for Turkish Airlines to enhance the passenger experience.
