Aoife Delaney becomes President of SITE in 2021

Aoife Delaney has served in a volunteer capacity with the Association throughout her membership, co-chairing the SITE Young Leaders Committee in 2009 and 2010, and Chairing the Global Conference in 2011 in addition to serving on the International Board of Directors.

The DMC Network announce the appointment of Aoife Delaney, Director of Marketing & Sales at the DMC Network, to President of the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) in 2021.

Aoife has been an active member with SITE since the start of her career in the meetings and incentive industry and has served in a volunteer capacity with the Association throughout her membership, co-chairing the SITE Young Leaders Committee in 2009 and 2010, and Chairing the Global Conference in 2011 in addition to serving on the International Board of Directors.

Speaking on the role this year, Aoife shared her excitement. "I am looking forward to this new challenge, and hugely thankful to the DMC Network, for their continued support of our industry and the important role that volunteer leadership plays within a company’s culture."

Aoife also shared her vision for the Association as we start to see the initial signs of recovery within our industry. "We have all been through an extremely difficult year, and while we are not out of the woods yet, we can certainly see the beginning signs of recovery, so there is a lot to be positive about in 2021! My main focus this year will be on guiding SITE through the beginnings of our recovery. But I want to do this with a bigger goal in sight. I want us to focus too on how we can build back better – for our members, for our industry, for the business world, and for society."

‘Build Back Better’ is a phrase that will resonate with many in the meetings and events industry, not least the DMC Network. "This last year has been the hardest test for so many of us in this industry, not least the DMC world" shared Dan Tavrytzky, Managing Director of the DMC Network. "But one silver lining that has come from 2020 is the opportunity to show our value as a partner. Covid19 has allowed us to upskill, to reinvent our services offering, to partner in new ways, and to create a more communicative work environment within our company. It has also reminded us of the importance of community. 2020 was a year when our membership of Industry Associations played an even bigger role than normal – we looked to SITE for the latest industry updates, for opportunities for our DMC Network partners to learn and gain certifications, for connections in our destination while we were unable to travel. We value our partnership with SITE, are proud to have one of our team server as President in 2021, and look forward to supporting Aoife every step of the way."
