Amadeus` web technologies drive an increase in online revenues for Garuda Indonesia

Amadeus and Garuda Indonesia (GA), the national airline of Indonesia, announced an exciting new partnership that has created a user-friendly booking system for customers globally on the Garuda Indonesia website (

The implementation of the Amadeus online booking engine was timed to coincide with Garuda Indonesia’s re-introduction of services to Europe with the launch of a new daily service from Jakarta to Amsterdam via Dubai, operated by the airline’s new Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which features the latest inflight entertainment for all passengers and a fully-flat bed in business class. Amsterdam is the first of several major European destinations which Garuda Indonesia intends to add to its fast-growing network over the next four years, including Frankfurt, London, Paris and Rome.

The Amadeus e-Retail web booking engine has opened a new channel of distribution for Garuda Indonesia’s international services and, with its user friendly design, is helping the airline achieve significant growth in international routes online bookings, (an impressive increase of 30 percent as a monthly average since the initial rollout of the project, in May until November 2010).

Garuda Indonesia has adopted a full suite of Amadeus’ web booking engine solutions, including the e-Retail Booking Engine, External Payment Gateway Solution, and Web e-Ticketing. This comprehensive e-commerce suite enables the airline to offer a simple, user-friendly web experience where customers can search for a suitable itinerary and fare, make their own booking, process their payment and automatically receive their e-ticket.
