Just a few days after getting nominated for the Best European Destination award, Athens is now also in the running to be crowned Europe’s Best MICE Destination at the World MICE Awards. The event will be hosted for the first time this year and is a sister event of the World Travel Awards.

The Greek capital ranked as the 24th top convention destination in the world for 2018 and the 16th in Europe, according to the latest International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Annual Report.
There is a number of reasons why: the city's location, connectivity, infrastructure, high-quality services, knowledge economy, vibrant lifestyle, culture, riviera, safety and weather.
Athens is nominated among 9 other European hotspots including London, Barcelona and Paris. Voting runs until the 5th February.
