battleface launches new explorer travel insurance product in the U.S.

battleface’s customer-focused approach of ‘don’t need, don’t buy’ is shifting the way travelers think about trip insurance, steering them away from the traditional one-size-fits-all packages that don’t work, and leading customers to save more by purchasing custom policies that include only the benefits they need.

COLUMBUS, OHIO – battleface Inc., the rapidly growing Insurtech that provides travelers with innovative insurance products, has launched a new Explorer Travel Insurance product in the U.S., specifically designed for the world’s most adventurous travelers. The new explorer product is essential for active travelers seeking coverage that would otherwise be excluded such as for sports, emergency medical treatment, evacuation, and accidents, as well as travel to some of the most isolated destinations.

“Our products are designed to take into account travelers' activities and destinations, which is what drove us to create the Explorer Travel product, an option that is already proving to be very popular with our customers,” says Lisa Conway, chief underwriting officer for battleface. “We noticed a large trend in travelers interested in nature/eco-friendly and exploration-based activities, such as trekking, hiking, cycling, rafting, and camping in out-of-the-ordinary destinations, so it was a natural move for us to launch a product that catered specifically to that demographic,” she adds.

The product provides coverage for a combination of leisure and non-professional sports activities including cycling, mountain climbing, fishing, scuba diving for qualified divers up to a maximum depth of 40 meters and for unqualified divers up to a maximum depth of 30 meters, snorkeling, white- or black-water rafting (grades one to four), canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, camping, hiking, backpacking, and sailing. Winter sports include downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, off-trail, and back-country skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, tobogganing, snow tubing, and ice skating, except as designated unsafe by resort management.

Unlike traditional insurance companies, battleface provides customers with instant quotes and the option to add hard-to-find benefits to the Explorer Travel product such as Cancel For Any Reason coverage as well as upgrades for Sports Equipment, Rental Vehicle Damage, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, and Search & Rescue. Additional benefit options customers can choose to add include Baggage Loss or Delay, Emergency Medical Evacuation, Travel Medical Expenses, Repatriation of Mortal Remains, Trip Cancellation & Interruption, Single Occupancy, Resumption of Trip, Late Night Delay, and Extension of Coverage.

battleface’s customer-focused approach of ‘don’t need, don’t buy’ is shifting the way travelers think about trip insurance, steering them away from the traditional one-size-fits-all packages that don’t work, and leading customers to save more by purchasing custom policies that include only the benefits they need. With the ever-changing global travel requirements and the ability to adapt to customers’ needs, the company is committed to providing an alternative custom-based approach when designing travel insurance products and services. Furthermore, battleface is dedicated to providing the very best customer care experience with 24-hour emergency travel and medical services on all plans to help travelers navigate emergencies with a real-time agent.
