Recent BCD Travel survey of 101 travel buyers conducted in April 2021 show that of the respondents, 99% rate duty of care as very to extremely important. For traveler satisfaction and wellbeing, this percentage is 93%.

On a 5-point scale from “not at all important” to “extremely important”, duty of care (4.7) and traveler satisfaction and wellbeing (4.5) are the top two travel program priorities, steadily occupying the highest positions in travel buyers’ ratings throughout 2020-2021.

These findings are based on a recent BCD Travel survey of 101 travel buyers conducted in April 2021. Some highlights:

  • Of the respondents, 99% rate duty of care as very to extremely important. For traveler satisfaction and wellbeing, this percentage is 93%.
  • Other priorities, including policy compliance, savings, data analytics, supplier management, and payment and expense management, experienced dips in importance during the past year, but are gradually recovering. Only the importance of sustainability has returned to its pre-pandemic level of 3.7 again.
