Bradley International Airport to welcome Frontier Airlines, add new nonstop service to Denver

The service will commence on March 28, 2019, on an Airbus 320.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CONNECTICUT – The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) announced the expansion of Bradley International Airport’s roster of airlines with the addition of low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines. The airline will debut its inaugural service with a nonstop route to Denver.

“Bradley International Airport is a major economic driver for Connecticut and it continues to be a key player in our efforts to grow our economy, boost tourism, and improve our transportation system,” Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy said. “Frontier Airlines is a welcomed addition to Bradley Airport. This announcement is proof of the airport’s growing strength, and it underscores the importance of continuing efforts to utilize Bradley as a magnet for economic activity.”

“We are proud to bring our unique brand of Low Fares Done Right to Hartford,” said Frontier Airlines Vice President of Network and Revenue Josh Flyr. “Frontier’s new service to Denver will make air travel more accessible and affordable for everyone in the greater Hartford area. We look forward to making it easier for people to fly, and for people to fly more often.”

“We welcome Frontier Airlines to the region, and we thank them for their vote of confidence in Bradley International Airport,” said CAA Board Chair Thomas (Tony) Sheridan. “This launch is another great success for Bradley, and it builds upon the many route development successes that we have achieved this year and in years past. These accomplishments clearly demonstrate that the creation of the Connecticut Airport Authority was a good decision for Connecticut residents, and I want to thank Governor Malloy for his foresight and leadership in establishing the CAA.”

“An indication of a strong route network is the continuous diversification of routes and airlines,” said CAA Executive Director Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E. “With the addition of this new service, we’re pleased to introduce a renowned low-cost carrier to Bradley and to continue solidifying the airport’s strong reputation in the industry and its pivotal role as New England’s second-largest airport. We look forward to our partnership with Frontier Airlines.”

The service will commence on March 28, 2019, on an Airbus 320. From Denver International Airport, the flight will leave at 7:00 AM (MST) and arrive at Bradley International Airport at 12:50 PM (EST). The flight will depart Bradley International Airport at 1:40 PM (EST) and land at Denver International Airport at 4:07 PM (MST). It will operate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

With the addition of Frontier Airlines’ new service, Bradley International Airport is ending 2018 on a high note and adding to a number of successes achieved earlier in the year:

  • Fiscal Strength: Bradley International Airport received a raised bond rating from S & P Global Ratings on its general airport revenue refunding bonds in June. Recognizing the CAA’s responsible fiscal management of Bradley International Airport’s finances, it was raised from “A” to “A+” in 2018.
  • Passenger Satisfaction: In October, Bradley International Airport received accolades from Conde Nast Traveler when it was announced that the airport was named the third best in the country in the Readers’ Choice Awards.
  • Infrastructure Development: Completion of a 2018 Master Plan, which includes $1.4 billion worth of projects over the 20-year planning horizon.
