Britons warned against paying too much for ‘most wanted’ holidays

A recent study by an online travel agency has revealed the most popular holiday destinations for 2014, with Cape Verde, Brazil and Morocco taking the podium positions. However, by only considering ‘most wanted’ destinations, people run the risk of overpaying for their summer break.

Cape Verde, Brazil and Morocco may top Brit’s ‘most wanted’ list of holiday destinations for 2014, but My Favourite Voucher Codes warns against paying over the odds for their summer holiday.

With January the most popular time of the year for Britons to book their summer holidays, My Favourite Voucher Codes, the voucher code website that raises money for good causes by donating 20% of their net profits to charity and helps consumers to save money with exclusive voucher codes, warns against paying over the odds.

A recent study by an online travel agency has revealed the most popular holiday destinations for 2014, with Cape Verde, Brazil and Morocco taking the podium positions.

However, by only considering ‘most wanted’ destinations, people run the risk of overpaying for their summer break. As well as the top three finishers, the rest of the list featured luxury destinations, such Mexico, USA and New Zealand.

The complete list of Brit’s ‘most wanted’ destinations:
1. Cape Verde – 31%
2. Brazil – 26%
3. Morocco – 23%
4. Sicily – 21%
5. Madeira – 18%
6. Mexico – 16%
7. USA – 12%
8. Turkey – 9%
9. Ibiza -5%
10. New Zealand – 4%

These holidays are a little more adventurous than the stereotypical British holiday to the Spanish Costas. This could be due to the fact that 66% of those polled said they want to go somewhere they’ve never been before.

While there is nothing wrong with people hoping to travel somewhere new, it makes it all the more important that they research their holiday to get the best possible price.

My Favourite Voucher Codes has got lots of travel deals and discounts that could help people get their dream holiday without blowing their budget.

First Choice Holidays voucher codes can save you up to £200 off selected holidays, whereas booking with discount vouchers for Easyjet will get you €50 spending money.

Julian House, founder of My Favourite voucher Codes, commented: “With exotic destinations often costing more money, it’s important that people check to see whether they could save with online voucher codes. If consumers download our browser app, they will be able to search for holidays and be notified if they could be making a saving with one of our codes.”
