Business Travel Direct launches self-booking tool with focus on non-GDS content

Bizzy Booker Pro can provide access to a wide choice of content including airfares – for both legacy and no frills airlines – rail fares, hotels, taxis, airport lounges and car parking.

Business Travel Direct is launching Bizzy Booker Pro, an easy to use web-based self-booking system. Bizzy Booker Pro is powered by MICROS Travel’s SABSCorporate technology which enables Business Travel Direct to adapt content to client requirements.

Bizzy Booker Pro can provide access to a wide choice of content including airfares – for both legacy and no frills airlines – rail fares, hotels, taxis, airport lounges and car parking. It is particularly useful for corporate bookers seeking access to non-GDS content. Clients can choose how much of this content they want to access.

For accommodation, the system can gives bookers access to leisure and corporate rates at over 400,000 non-GDS hotels worldwide including chains such as Premier Inn as well as content from Laterooms, GTA, Grupo Transhotel and Hotel.de. As the system integrates with Conferma, it also automates much of the hotel billback process, saving considerable administration time.

Bizzy Booker Pro features a unique holistic costing facility that enables bookers to make informed decisions. The facility automatically calculates costs having taken into consideration corporate travel policy, carbon cost, man-hour cost and corporate governance before presenting the most cost effective options.

Julie Oliver, managing director of Business Travel Direct, commented: “The launch of Bizzy Booker Pro is an illustration of our commitment to offer clients with a service tailored to their specific needs. Increasingly clients have been asking for access to non-GDS content, especially hotels many of which are in locations not served by GDS listed properties, and integration of other key services within a single interface.

“This system not only gives bookers access to extensive content but also helps them to choose the most cost effective and productive option.

“As a company we pride ourselves on adapting our services to meet client demands and we are pleased to be working with MICROS Travel who have the same can do attitude. We look forward to working with them to adapt SABSCorporate to meet our clients’ specific needs“.

Micros managing director, Brian Sheerin added: “The launch of Bizzy Booker Pro is another exciting and innovative use of our SABSCorporate product, and we are delighted to be working with Business Travel Direct as they look to offer their clients a new, simple and easy way to book their travel arrangements. The system will help clients to make informed travel decisions based on their personal, business and environmental preferences, in a speedy and cost effective way.”
