Business Travel Direct launches two new divisions

The Meetings and Events division has been launched in response to growing client demand for the TMC to arrange and manage corporate events.

Business Travel Direct is expanding its offering of specialist services with the launch of a meetings and events division and a marine division to serve the needs of the oil and gas sectors.

The Meetings and Events division has been launched in response to growing client demand for the TMC to arrange and manage corporate events. The division provides a full range of services including group travel, incentive travel and events, meetings, conferences and team building events. The team will take care of everything from venue finding, preparing RFPs and site visits.

Clients have access to an innovative online event management system that enables them to handle all aspects of their events quickly and easily from start to finish. System options include marketing events through the use of websites, personalised invitations and emails, managing event registration, accommodation booking and taking payments. Organisers can continually track progress on registrations, manage room inventory and even create a task lists for everyone involved in the event. Critically the system also allows clients to manage budgets online and use a variety of reports to measure success.

Adopting the same service and ROI principles adopted by Business Travel Direct, the division will negotiate deals with suppliers and provide full reporting and reconciliation of expenditure.

The new division is staffed by an experienced team including Helen Sawyer, services director, and new recruits Ian Ferguson, commercial director, and Mark Bevan, head of strategic relationships.

Business Travel Direct’s new Marine division services the needs of companies involved in the oil and gas sectors. In recognition of the fact that companies in these sectors have very specific needs, Business Travel Direct has established a highly experienced, specialist team based in central London.

Julie Oliver
, managing director of Business Travel Direct, comments: “These two new divisions extend our range of services provided by expert teams with a wealth of experience.

“Meetings and events are a logical extension of the services we offer as it makes it easier for clients to consolidate their expenditure through one single organisation. As a TMC we are well versed in negotiating the best rates, helping companies to monitor their expenditure and to measure the ROI achieved.”
