CarTrawler and Distribusion to expand bus transfer solutions for airlines

This deal significantly expands CarTrawler’s range of bus transfer solutions offered to its B2B partners.

DUBLIN & BERLIN – CarTrawler, a leading online travel technology platform, has announced its partnership with Distribusion Technologies (‘Distribusion’), the global aggregator of intercity and shuttle bus services. This deal significantly expands CarTrawler’s range of bus transfer solutions offered to its B2B partners. Distribusion’s pre-bookable bus transfers will be merchandised within CarTrawler’s dedicated ancillary revenue platform for airlines. This new pre-paid bus content is available to all one hundred of CarTrawler’s airline partners and 2,000 online travel retailers as part of their travel itinerary, with immediate effect.

Distribusion offers its partners millions of airport shuttle and intercity bus rides across thousands of global destinations at the best price. Through CarTrawler’s airline ancillary merchandising platform, customers have full visibility of scheduled travel information including supplier name and ‘included services’ that customers can expect on a journey, such as availability of in-bus WiFi and power sockets. Open tickets provide customers with 24 hour flexibility before and after the departure time of their flight, making this an ideal solution for airlines.

Announcing the launch, Tommi Holmgren, Director of Ground Transportation at CarTrawler, said: “It’s an exciting time for the travel industry. Invisible boundaries that used to exist between products and services have now all but vanished, opening up new opportunities across every segment of the travel industry. With the widening of our existing bus transfers product, alongside car rental, taxi, private transfer and train solutions, our travel partners no longer need to leak customers to other websites nor are they forced to work directly with them, exposing their valuable customer data”.

“Our service, like our customer’s journey, doesn’t start and end at the airport. We continue to invest in our technology and expand our customer offering. Pre-booking offers peace of mind to customers, helping them to plan their travel arrangements from door to door, however they choose to travel” he added.

Julian Hauck, CEO of Distribusion, said: “We are very excited to launch this partnership with CarTrawler. Today, customers expect more than just a flight or a hotel, but rather a complete end-to-end travel arrangement. With airport shuttles and intercity bus rides, airline customers now benefit from the cheapest available option to get to and from the airport, city centre or any other destination close-by. Combining flight and bus bookings enables travellers a seamless way of booking their entire journey.”
