City Sightseeing launches first ever Hop-on Hop-off service in Lebanon

Beirut becomes latest exciting destination for global sightseeing company.

City Sightseeing, the world's leading open-top double-decker bus, boat, and guided walking tours company, launched the first ever Hop-on Hop-off service in Beirut, Lebanon today, following the success of its launches in Al-Madinah (Saudi Arabia), Dubai and Sharjah (UAE).

Lebanon's capital joins the global brand's portfolio of over 100 cities across six continents, including world-class destinations such as London, New York, Dubai, Barcelona, Singapore, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Moscow.

City Sightseeing will operate three open-top double-decker buses in the city, all equipped with pre-recorded commentary in six languages.

City Sightseeing, which operates in 18 towns and cities across the UK, brings the first ever Hop-on Hop-off service to the country; a service which has thrived in the most popular tourist destinations over the past 20 years.

An emerging destination amongst British travellers and one of the oldest cities in the world, the City Sightseeing Beirut tour takes visitors through the most iconic sites of Beirut, including Martyr’s Square, Zaitunay Bay, Raouche Rock and the Roman Baths.

The route has a total duration of 90 minutes and travellers can hop on and off at any of the 15 stops along the route. Ticket fares range from £25.65.

The launch of City Sightseeing Beirut inaugurates a new era of development in Lebanon, with further plans to introduce more operations and products in a handful of cities throughout the country, including Jeita, the city of Byblos and the Teleferique.

Enrique Ybarra, President & CEO of City Sightseeing Worldwide said: "We are very happy to bring a tourist icon such as the Hop-on Hop-off service to Lebanon, as City Sightseeing not only expands to mature destinations but also to other emerging ones where City Sightseeing can also contribute to economic development in the country."

"This new operation strengthens our presence in the Middle East, where we already operate in Dubai and Sharjah, UAE, and Al-Madinah, Saudi Arabia. We are very proud to welcome Beirut to the City Sightseeing international portfolio, as it will allow us to offer our more than 200 industry partners a new and exciting destination for international travellers to enjoy."
