City Sightseeing Worldwide and Moscow-based “Capital River Boat Tour Company” signed an agreement for a new strategic partnership.
MOSCOW – On International Women’s Day, one of Russia’s major holidays, the Russian office of City Sightseeing Worldwide and Moscow-based Capital River Boat Tour Company, oldest and largest carrier of water transportation in the Moscow region (founded by Stalin in 1933), signed an agreement for a new strategic partnership. The companies intend to implement a joint tour excursion operation on boats and double-decker buses, which together will be the largest city tour program in the Russian Federation.
Under the agreement, City Sightseeing has acquired four buses from “Capital River Boat Tour Company” and transferred its two ships to them. As a result of the exchange the joint program will have 15 buses and 40 boats in Moscow. All 15 buses, as well as three of the ships will be branded as City Sightseeing Moscow, the remaining 37 ships will be carrying a City Sightseeing Partner logo. The entire fleet of double-decker buses and at least fifteen ships will be equipped with multilingual audio guides.
The two companies unite not only their fleets, but also the distribution network for the ticket sales.
“By combining the two largest excursion carriers, Moscow residents and its visitors will benefit from a single combination ticket, which will allow passengers to use the services of both companies for an unlimited number of times during two consecutive days. The cost of the combo ticket will be as low as 1,300 roubles (26 euros)”, says President of City Sightseeing Russia and Azerbaijan Mr. Sergei V. Lavrebtyev. “Passengers will be able to buy a combo ticket on board either the bus or boat, or at any ticket office located on the Moskva river piers.”
According to CEO of “Capital River Boat Tour Company” Mr. Dmitry E. Balykov: “Through the integration of bus and river routes, and its two-day single combo ticket for the river and all the bus tours, tourists and residents of the capital will be able to get a totally new and unique opportunity to learn more about Moscow’s attractions and leisure activities.”
