Concur extends benefits of Managed Travel Programs to capture business travel spend in Europe

Customers will gain up to 38 percent more visibility into business travel bookings.

BELLEVUE, WASH., FRANKFURT, GERMANY and PARIS, FRANCE – Concur announced the launch of Concur TripLink in Germany and France. Concur TripLink is an industry-leading solution that enables corporate customers to realize the benefits of their corporate managed travel programs across all travel, including bookings that are happening outside of their program today.

According to a recent survey “Booking Behaviour: The Business Traveller’s Perspective,” conducted by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), in partnership with Concur – more than a third of all business travelers in France, Germany, and the UK currently book with suppliers directly. Which means that companies are unable to apply policy, capture corporate discounts and live up to duty of care responsibilities 38 percent of the time.

“The GBTA study demonstrates that EMEA employees frequently need to book travel directly with suppliers, which represents a significant challenge for their employers” said Tim MacDonald, executive vice president of Travel for Concur. “With TripLink, our customers will be able to realize the value of their travel program on direct supplier bookings occurring today without encouraging or enabling more direct bookings by their employees.”

Concur TripLink is the first solution of its kind to extend the benefits of a managed travel program to those bookings that happen directly with suppliers. This allows businesses to:

  • Maximize the use of negotiated corporate discounts
  • Gain visibility into spend no matter where it is booked
  • Ensure end user compliance to travel policy
  • Have a consolidated view of all of their travel program data
  • Fulfill duty of care requirements

Customers will enjoy increased flexibility in booking channels with these providers while receiving all the benefits of their managed travel program. Global Concur TripLink partners include AccorHotels, Airbnb, Air Canada, Avis, Booking.com, Captain Train, Enterprise, Etihad Airways, HotelTonight, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Lufthansa, National Car Rental, Marriott (International), Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Sixt, United Airlines and Wally Park.
