Copa Airlines celebrates 10 years of connecting Las Vegas with Latin America and the Carribean

Operating 4 weekly flights from Las Vegas with its extensive network of routes in Latin America and the Caribbean, through the Hub of the Americas in Panama City.

LAS VEGAS – Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A, and a member of the global Star Alliance airline network, celebrates 10 years of providing nonstop service while connecting the city of Las Vegas with its extensive network of routes through the Hub of the Americas®, located at the Tocumen International Airport, in Panama.

“We are very proud of our 10 years of operation in Las Vegas connecting two great destinations. Our continued partnership has offered a travel gateway from Las Vegas to more than 55 Latin American and the Caribbean cities,” said David DeFossey, commercial regional manager for North America of Copa Airlines. “We thank the authorities at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, our travel industry leaders, the community and partners for trusting Copa Airlines to continue connecting travelers with all of the Americas, while contributing to the tourism and economic development of the area.”

Copa Airlines started servicing the city of Las Vegas on June 27, 2012. Now, in its 10th anniversary, the airline remains committed to connecting the Americas by offering more international destinations within Latin America than any other airline from any other hub in the region. All flights are operated with modern Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, with the capacity to carry 16 passengers in business class and 144 in the main cabin.

“Over the past ten years, hundreds of thousands of passengers have enjoyed convenient, nonstop or one-stop travel to and from Las Vegas on Copa Airlines,” said Scott Kichline, assistant director of business/commercial development for Harry Reid International Airport. “We look forward to the next decade of partnership and opportunities to connect even more of the world to Las Vegas.”

“We’re thrilled to celebrate a decade of nonstop service from our partners at Copa Airlines,” said H. Fletch Brunelle, vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “Copa has served as an important gateway for visitors from Latin America, and that connectivity has provided valuable opportunities for growth. As Las Vegas evolves with world-class entertainment and special events, unrivaled dining and thrilling attractions, we’re delighted visitors will continue to enjoy the convenience of Copa’s nonstop service.”

Las Vegas is Copa Airlines’ seventh U.S. destination offering departures from Harry Reid International Airport on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:43 a.m., arriving at Copa’s Hub of the Americas at the Tocumen International Airport at 10:12 a.m. The return flight departs Panama on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:34 p.m. and arrives in Las Vegas at 11:17 p.m.

The Airline continues to focus on offering world-class service connecting passengers through the Hub of the Americas, located at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.  Currently, Copa Airlines connects more than 75 cities in 32 countries in North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean.
