New hire Carlos Gomez leads assertive growth plans for cutting-edge travel tech firm.
Travel technology provider Clicktripz announces an aggressive expansion plan into Latin America, with the hire of new area Vice President, Carlos O. Gomez.
Gomez led a team over autumn 2015 that has signed some of the most prominent South American OTAs to partner with the site. These include the largest Venezuelan OTA Viajanet Venezuelam, the largest Colombian OTA Tiquetes Baratos, Argentinian meta Turismocity and one of the largest metas in Brazil, Mundi.
Based in Mexico City, Gomez joins Clicktripz from Preferred Hotels and Resorts, where he held the role of Regional Director. Prior to this he held managerial roles at Expedia Affiliate Network, Egencia CTS, Radius Connect Worldwide and Mexico Amadeus Mexico.
Clicktripz builds innovative software solutions to serve the needs of suppliers, publishers, advertisers and travellers. By enabling travel providers to show competitor pricing when travellers make a search, Clicktripz offers a unique transparency to brands. The solution also monetises exit traffic for publishers, using precise targeting and granular bidding from competing advertisers.
Crucially, the Latin expansion signifies a wider trend in travel booking technology – the clear need for user transparency. And by making search more efficient, Clicktripz enables further remuneration for OTAs and metas. This ‘no brainer’ for travel brands opens up new revenue streams, from users already destined to check competitor sites. A recent study has shown for example users are likely to check up to 38 competitor sites for prices, during the hotel booking process.
Here Gomez states: “For several years US and European travel brands have recognised this evident necessity in the market. It’s only natural for Latin America to then take note of how we can make OTAs more efficient, increasing revenue simultaneously. Hence there has been strong demand for this software solution from suppliers, publishers and advertisers.”
Paula Reboucas, VP Business Development at Mundi states: “We believe this partnership is important to Mundi because Clicktripz offers a technology that will help us further our efforts to achieve our goal to help users plan their perfect trip, giving them even more options.”
