The Franchise Rock Stars were nominated by their brand’s leadership in one of eight categories as business owners who set admirable examples when it comes to leadership, business acumen, financial and professional success and contributing to their community.
DIX HILLS, N.Y. – Dream Vacations franchise owner and Dix Hills resident Melissa Cohn was named by research firm, Franchise Business Review, as being one of 2022’s Franchise Rock Stars. Cohn was selected from more than 30,000 franchisees, representing more than 300 brands that participated in the publication’s research.
The Franchise Rock Stars were nominated by their brand’s leadership in one of eight categories as business owners who set admirable examples when it comes to leadership, business acumen, financial and professional success and contributing to their community. Categories included: Giving Back, Women, Millennials, Veterans, Family-Owned, “Freshmen,” Top-Performers and Multi-Unit Owners. Cohn was recognized in the Women’s category.

In the fall of 2021, Cohn had a decision to make when parent company World Travel Holdings announced it was merging its Cruises Inc. independent contractor model with its Dream Vacations franchise business model to create more profitable opportunities for its network of travel advisors. As the top Cruises Inc. performer, Cohn knew what choice allowed her to continue growing her business and that was owning a Dream Vacations franchise, so she became an owner in January 2022. Within less than a year of making this change, Cohn earned a spot as one of the top selling travel agency owners within Dream Vacations. Solely based on volume, she qualified to be a member of the network’s prestigious “Circle of Excellence,” which recognizes Dream Vacations top-producing travel agency franchise owners.
