Eastern Airways introduces new timings on Stornoway – Aberdeen service

Eastern Airways first started operating scheduled flights between Stornoway and Aberdeen in 2006.

New timings are being introduced on Eastern Airways’ services between Stornoway and Aberdeen, which include new morning departures from Stornoway at the beginning of the week and later afternoon flights from Aberdeen at the end of the week.

From Monday 4 April 2016, the new timings will commence on the route providing morning flights from Stornoway on Mondays and Wednesdays and afternoon departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, as part of the UK regional airline’s daily weekday operation to and from the Western Isles linking Aberdeen.

Flights depart Stornoway at 9.30am on Mondays, 9.55am on Wednesdays, 2.35pm on Tuesdays and 5.35pm on Thursdays and Fridays, arriving in Aberdeen at 10.25am on Mondays, 10.50am on Wednesdays, 3.30pm on Tuesdays and 6.30pm on Thursdays and Fridays.

Services leave Aberdeen at 8am on Mondays, 8.25am on Wednesdays, 1.05pm on Tuesdays and 4.10pm on Thursdays and Fridays, arriving in Stornoway at 9.05am on Mondays, 9.30am on Wednesdays, 2.10pm on Tuesdays and 5.05pm on Thursdays and Fridays.

Kay Ryan, Eastern Airways’ commercial director, said: “We always said if an opportunity presented itself, we would try to improve the schedule between Stornoway and Aberdeen. Through these adjustments we can now offer morning flights from Stornoway on Mondays and Wednesdays, while Thursdays and Fridays will see late afternoon departures from Aberdeen at 4.10pm. These flights allow for onward connections from Aberdeen.”

Duncan Smith, Stornoway Airport manager, Highlands & Islands Airports, said: “This is a very positive step forward for our passengers travelling in and out of Stornoway, as this will provide an improved timetable for earlier and later arrivals on some days and will provide more opportunities for onward connections.”

Eastern Airways first started operating scheduled flights between Stornoway and Aberdeen in 2006.

All departing Eastern Airways scheduled passengers benefit from a dedicated fast track security channel at Aberdeen Airport to avoid any queues.  Access to Eastern Airways business lounge in Aberdeen is also available to all of the airline’s passengers.

Customers are offered complimentary drinks and snacks on board the aircraft and there is no charge for check-in, baggage or choice of seat.

A network of services across to 18 airports in the UK, Norway and France is operated by the airline on a fleet of 32 regional aircraft.
