Ecuador fortifies ties with US tour operators during USTOA 2022

1 on 1 meetings with key tour operators specialized in South America strengthen commercial relations with partners in this market. Ecuador delights US tour operators reunited at USTOA 2022 in Austin, Texas with organic Ecuadorian coffee and chocolate.

QUITO, ECUADOR – Ecuador Tourism Board is attending the 2022 USTOA Annual Conference & Marketplace that takes place from November 28th to December 2nd in Austin, Texas to strengthen the relationships with the tour operators and associate partners to lure more clients to travel and discover the magic of Ecuador.  

During the 1 on 1 meetings scheduled with leading US tour operators and media, Ecuador showcases the diversity of product and experiences appealing to the US market, the latest developments in sustainability and gastronomy, as well as aspects of cooperation efforts to promote the destination in North America, put Ecuador on the list of preferred international destinations and attract more tourists from this market to the country of the 4 worlds.

To further delight attendees and share a taste of Ecuador, the tourism board sponsored The Warm-Up Workshops, offering a taste of organic Ecuadorian coffee, chocolates and sweets, a delicious morning to bring partners closer to Ecuador’s culinary experience and hospitality and to open more opportunities for future collaboration and increased visitation from the US.

Our participation will strengthen our business relationships and partnerships in the US market, which is the largest outbound market to Ecuador. Our authentic, meaningful, and off-the-grid experiences, in such a rich biodiversity, with a focus on protecting the environment and creating valuable human connections, are in line with the 2023 travel trends and the perfect fit for the American traveler seeking to expand their horizons and embrace the great outdoors," said Santiago Granda, Undersecretary of Promotion for the Ecuador Tourism Board.

It should be noted that, according to the Statistics Department of the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, 334,491 U.S. tourists entered the country by October 2022, an increase of 13% YOY, mostly by air, with a 34.28% market share.

Ecuador Tourism Board will continue to build up and fortify it presence and business relationships in key international markets to showcase the city and consolidate its image as one of the most attractive and safe places to visit in 2023, emphasizing the importance of tourism for the local economy and travel industry.
