EL AL Israel Airlines launches a new route: Manchester to Tel Aviv

The new route is scheduled to start on 26th May 2019, with flights from Manchester Airport to Ben Gurion Airport.

EL AL Israel Airlines has announced a new direct flight from Manchester to Tel Aviv. The announcement was made at the opening of World Travel Market by Michael Strassburger, EL AL Israel Airlines Vice President Commercial and Industry Affairs, together with Mr. Amir Halevi, Director General of Israel Ministry of Tourism.

The new route is scheduled to start on 26th May 2019, with flights from Manchester Airport to Ben Gurion Airport. The flights will operate on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering two service classes, Business Class and Economy Class three times per week.

Ben Gurion is conveniently located between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, offering the perfect starting point to any city break, adventure or beach holiday in Israel. The new route from Manchester will offer a full-service airline departure from the north of the UK.

The ‘Two Sunny Cities, One Break’ campaign, currently running by the Israel Government Tourist Office, showcases the highlights of both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, located less than an hour apart and boasting non-stop nightlife and culture, to sandy beaches and history plus year-round sunshine.

EL AL Vice President Commercial and Industry Affairs Michael Strassburger: "EL AL will significantly expand its roster of destinations in Europe in 2019. After announcing direct flights to Lisbon and Nice and the introduction of our new fare model that enables customers to choose how they want to fly and how much they want to pay, we are delighted to announce another new route. Manchester has a large Jewish community and is a center of business and tourism. This is good news not only for Israeli consumers; we also anticipate carrying thousands of tourists to Israel on this new route.”

Mr. Yariv Levin, Israel’s Minister of Tourism said "We are delighted that El Al will be opening up a flight path from Manchester to Tel Aviv. With more carriers flying to Israel it is clear that there is an ever-increasing demand to visit our country, and we look forward to showing everything we have to offer to visitors in 2019”.

Julian Carr, Aviation Director at Manchester Airport, said: "We are delighted to welcome El Al to Manchester Airport with flights to Tel Aviv. "The carrier will offer the 22 million passengers in our vast catchment area more choice and accessibility to this part of the world. I am sure it will prove hugely popular and look forward to flights commencing next year."
