Elit'Avia awarded Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by Transport Malta

Elit'Avia expands fleet by inducting three aircraft under maltese AOC to serve growing demand from international clientele.

LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA – Elit’Avia, a fully-integrated provider of business aircraft charter, management and operation services, announced that it has been awarded an aircraft operator certificate (AOC) by Transport Malta, the national aviation authority of the European Union country, and has inducted three aircraft under this AOC.

Registered in Malta, Elit’Avia is managing a Bombardier Global XRS, a Dassault Falcon 7X and a Bombardier Challenger 605. The XRS and the Challenger are immediately available for charter. The new factory-delivered Falcon will initially be operated privately. Added to the aircraft previously registered under its Slovenian AOC, Elit’Avia’s global fleet of 15 aircraft actively serves clients worldwide – particularly in Europe, Russia, Africa and North America.

“We are very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a Maltese AOC,” says Michel Coulomb, President and CEO, Elit’Avia. “Looking at 2013 compared to 2012, we have enjoyed overall fleet traffic growth of approximately 20% – with Africa representing a fourfold increase in activity. By year end, we expect to be managing 20 aircraft and by adding the Maltese AOC to our portfolio, we are well positioned to support increased activity levels without compromising our commitment to service. Maintaining high standards of safety and value-added aircraft management services remains our top priority.”

“Malta has emerged as a preferred location for business aircraft operators for several reasons,” continues Puja Mahajan, Chief Operating Officer, Elit’Avia. “Malta is EASA-certified and FAA Category 1-certified, and the government has created a tax-friendly environment for aircraft owners and operators. We are pleased to now offer our clients full service management and charter support including: ground operations, continued airworthiness (CAMO) and other related services from this highly-desirable AOC territory. Ultimately, our objective is to fully serve existing and prospective clients across Europe, Russia, Africa and North America.”
