Since the middle of March, a Euromic search committee has been actively recruiting and publicizing the Euromic Executive Director position.
Euromic the non-profit association of leading Events and Destination Marketing Companies representing DMCs in 54 countries announced the departure of its long-standing Executive Director, Christophe Verstraete in April. "We are now delighted to announce the appointment of Huw Tuckett as his successor to the role."
Since the middle of March, a Euromic search committee has been actively recruiting and publicizing the Euromic Executive Director position. The committee was made of up of 5 members and was assisted by an external professional association consultant. A fair and structured search process was followed based on global best practices.
56 applications from highly qualified candidates from various segments of the association and MICE space were received from all over the world. We consider this to be a clear indication of the respect and reputation Euromic has in the global market. A multi-tier scrutiny and interview process was followed over many weeks after which Huw was selected.
Huw is an accomplished executive leader with over 20 years of global experience in the incentive travel and performance improvement industry. He has been successful implementor of business plans and projects into new territories and thrives on nurturing teams, businesses and making them work well.
Welsh by birth, Huw been consulting and was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Uwin and Iwin International South Africa. Prior to that was an Inbound Incentives Manager for Abercrombie & Kent Southern Africa. He also has experience to the cruise and aviation industries.
On his appointment Huw says “I'm very honoured and excited to have been chosen for this new role, Euromic is an association that I have admired and held in high regard for a very long time. I'm also excited to be back in an industry that I'm incredibly passionate about. I'm really looking forward to meeting all of the members and getting to work, building on Euromic's already well-established impressive credentials as one of the most respected association’s in the industry.”

Huw will be based in London where the operational center of Euromic will move under his management. He will formally start August 2.
