Despite a traumatic year, the hotel industry is firmly back on the road to profitability in 2002. The events of September 11th 2001 combined with the global economic downturn forced a thriving industry to rethink its growth and expansion strategy in favour of sustainability. However, the first quarter of 2002 proved very positive for hotel companies and did much to boost morale across the industry. Numbers are improving quickly and there is no doubt that a strong recovery is on the way with most hotel players beating analysts` predictions. Recent analyst reports have stated that the industry will make a full recovery by the 1st quarter of 2004 and will have shown a growth of over 6%. However, in order to do this, hotel companies must look for ways to expand and finance that expansion.



Key opportunities for development and growth will be identified and discussed during Euromoney Seminars` 2nd Annual European Hotel Investment Forum taking place on the 17th and 18th September 2002 at Le Meridien Piccadilly in London.
