600m² of additional exhibition space in the most attractive part of the Austria Center Vienna

Managing Director Susanne Baumann-Sollner, Austria Center Vienna.

Customers can now make the most of 600m² of additional networking and meeting space at Austria’s largest conference centre.

Six flexible rooms covering around 600m² set in the most attractive part of the building, adjacent to the main entrance, are now available on Level 0 at the Austria Center Vienna. This appealing new space for meetings, talks and lectures for 70-140 people was completed in time for the autumn season just opposite the Business Lounge and Cafe MOTTO (both of which opened in 2015).

Individual event concepts on a single level
“Our goal was to offer the highest degree of functionality for event organisers. The new meeting area consists of six rooms of between 71m² and 128m² which can be split into smaller units using mobile partition walls. It is perfect for smaller-scale lectures and talks, workshops, new meeting formats and product presentations. Our customers like the fact that the rooms are right next to the main entrance, the registration desk and the exhibition spaces, while still being separate. This means that the new spaces are ideal as a hospitality area for sponsors, or for satellite symposiums,” explained Austria Center Vienna Managing Director Susanne Baumann-Sollner. “The space is the perfect addition for congresses and corporate events with 3,000 to 4,000 participants in particular. And it also opens up new options for larger congresses such as UEG Week (United European Gastroenterology), which brought 9,000 participants to the venue in mid-October.”

Contemporary setting and first-class technical equipment
The uniform contemporary identity featuring light colours and clean lines – already established in the Business Lounge and Cafe MOTTO – has been extended into the meeting areas. Large windows introduce a fresh source of light, flooding the foyer with daylight. Natural earthy tones and woodland green accents on a variety of wall and floor coverings add warmth to the modern setting. Contemporary architectural features such as cylindrical ceiling panels and felt-covered walls ensure excellent acoustics. Thanks to the availability of permanently installed lighting, sound and projection equipment, all speakers have to do is plug in their laptops and they are good to go. The high-quality WiFi network – which recently won the venue a special award – is available in all areas.

“This new project shows our commitment to continuously enhancing the feelgood factor at the venue. After all, we want to make sure that we meet the needs of all our visitors and add value for them. We are already busy planning our next projects, with refurbishment of Halls M and N scheduled to start in December. Six foyer cafes on three levels will also be modernised,” Baumann-Sollner confirmed.
