Passengers carried by the airline members of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA) increased by 7.2% in Jan-Sep 2002. Exceptional growth of 13.2% was achieved in September, as numbers in September 2001 were affected by the terrorist attacks in USA. For the first time, turbofan aircraft form the majority of the fleet, comprising 52% of the total aircraft operated by ERA airlines. The main highlights are shown in the above tables:
