The French and British airline companies said in a joint statement that the decision to resume flights reflected confidence about the industry`s ability to overcome the crisis in the US following the tragic terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11th. Speaking to reporters, British Airways chief executive Rod Eddington said the flights would demonstrate that it is business as usual between Britain and the United States. Air France plans to operate five weekly round-trip flights between Paris and New York, while British Airways, will conduct six weekly round trips and as of December 1 up to April 13, 2002 BA will operate one flight per week between London and Barbados.
