Alitalia inks distribution deal with Sabre Travel Network

Alitalia has signed a multi-year distribution agreement with Sabre Travel Network to extend its global reach and enhance its distribution model by making its fares and inventory available to travellers, agencies and corporations around the world.

The distribution agreement with Alitalia makes the airline’s full range of fares including published fares sold through the airline’s own website and reservation offices, available to Sabre Connected agents worldwide.

“The GDS is an important distribution channel that will allow us to grow globally by efficiently getting our fares to travellers within key markets beyond the European border,” said Alitalia’s Distribution Director Flavio Ghiringhelli.

“We chose Sabre as one of our preferred GDS partners because they are recognised as the premier distribution partner for airlines pursuing global growth and reach within Europe’s corporate market. Working with Sabre, we hope to strengthen our global distribution and at the same time, optimise our sales within the corporate market.”

Senior Vice President for Sabre Travel Network EMEA Martin Cowley said: "More corporations and agencies are choosing to partner with Sabre because of our commitment to delivering relevant content and access to the lowest fares in the most efficient, cost-effective way.

“Through our corporate and agency partnerships, we are able to help Alitalia broaden its customer reach through every channel of travel marketing, sales and distribution, and through every market, particularly the corporate segment where we have the strongest global presence of any GDS.”

Sabre Travel Network now has content agreements with nearly 400 airlines worldwide, including all major European carriers.
