The contract for the incorporation of the AIDAvita cruise liner in the Athens 2004 Accommodation Programme was signed between  Ìoltke Events company and Athens 2004 Organising Committee.

AIDAvita is the seventh and last cruise liner, which will be berthed in the Piraeus Port. It belongs to Seetours Company (P&O Princess Cruises International Ltd.) and will accommodate the German Olympic Family, the German Television studios and personnel.

AIDAvita can accommodate 1,266 passengers. The cruise liner has shops, internet cafe, spa, pools, recreation rooms (movies, disco), areas specially designed for children, library, restaurants etc. Ìoltke Events, the charter company of AIDAvita, in cooperation with Deutsche sport-marketing LTD, the exclusive marketing agent of the German Olympic Committee and with DERTOUR company, the official tourist agency of the same Committee for more than 40 years now, are responsible for the preparation and the berthing of the only German cruise liner that will be in the Port of Piraeus during the Games.

The contract that was signed by Athens 2004 Executive Director, Spyros Capralos, was also signed by Ìoltke Events Managing Director Werner von Moltke, in the presence of Athens 2004 Accommodation Manager, Spyros Pappas.

In total, 11 cruise liners will be berthed in the Port of Piraeus, with an accommodation capacity of 13,000 passengers. Athens 2004 has signed a contract for the incorporation of seven cruise liners within the Accommodation Programme, while the remaining four will be launched with a berthing licence in the Olympic area of the Port and will accommodate spectators. The reformation process of the Port is underway, so that the area can welcome the cruise liners during the Olympic Games, guaranteeing high quality services to the passengers and the crew. We underline that many beautifying works are being conducted in the Port, such as rehabilitation and renovation of old buildings, revitalisation, and embellishment of the berthing areas. Simultaneously, infrastructure works are being conducted, such as waste disposal systems, new drainage systems, and improvement and extension of the electricity network.
