Aviall to expand supply chain services into Russia

Aviall, Inc., a Boeing company, has entered into an agreement with Moscow-based Aviation Service Company Aviation Equipment (ASC Aviation Equipment) to supply forecasting services, technology, training and aviation material for distribution in the Russian aviation market. ASC Aviation Equipment is a subsidiary of Concern of Aviation Equipment (CAE), a State Corporation Russian Technologies (Russian Technologies) company.

The agreement becomes effective in the fourth quarter of 2011 after signature at Moscow’s August 2011 Air Show.

"We are very pleased and proud to announce this agreement with the services unit of Concern of Aviation Equipment to expand our services into Russia," said Dan Komnenovich, President and CEO of Aviall, Inc. "We believe this will enhance quality and efficiency for Russian aviation operators and we look forward to helping support customers in this important market."

The new agreement will give customers access to state-of-the-art information technology infrastructure, allowing them to link with Russian Technologies in a single IT system. The linkage will help airlines increase their aircraft utilization, reduce or avoid airplane-on-ground (AOG) situations and reduce operational costs.

"Cooperation with one of the global aerospace leaders, in the creation of a distribution system and maintenance, repair and overhaul infrastructure will allow us to apply modern technologies and know-how in material management, production and component repair for various aircraft types. We will leverage best management practices, including Lean production methodology, which are successfully applied by Boeing," said Andrey Rybin, General Director of CAE.

Boeing and Russian Technologies helped facilitate this new agreement. The two companies have worked together on a variety of aviation-related projects since 2007, when Russian Technologies was formed to assist Russian manufacturers in developing, producing and exporting high-technology industrial products in domestic and international markets.

This agreement marks the latest step of Russian Technologies’ long-term plan to offer world-class distribution, integrated MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) services, materials management and local production of aviation parts and components.
