Buyitaly, the Italian tourism workshop organised by EXPOcts as part of the Borsa Internazionale del Turismo, confirms at BIT 2004 that the number of foreign buyers is on the increase.

Now in its 19th year, Buyitaly is a traditional meeting between the supply side of the Italian tourism industry and foreign buyers, organised by EXPOcts in conjunction with the Italian State Tourist Board (Enit) and Alitalia. Two days of business meetings between over 2,500 Italian sellers and over 400 select international buyers from over 50 countries. In 18 years, Buyitaly has hosted over 10,000 foreign buyers and 61,000 sellers.

As part of the Borsa Internazionale del Turismo, Buyitaly is the ideal marketplace to generate productive results in terms of agreements and contacts between supply and demand highlights Adalberto Corsi, President of EXPOcts.

For 2004, Buyitaly is introducing something new: the EXPO Matching Program, lately implemented by EXPOcts, for a real matching of demand and supply, allowing the supply side to select sellers at the workshops on the basis of the demands and interests shown by the 400 selected buyers.

An innovative technology will make for an easier matching of buyers and sellers. These figures will allow the Italian Regions to have indications ahead of time on the geographical areas in which the buyers are most interested and the type of products/services they need so as to be able to invite the sellers who fulfil the selected requirements.

So, the operators can organise their agendas ahead of time and increase the effectiveness of their businesses, through selected meetings with sellers that reflect the buyers` requirements.
