A new concept, continuing sector research, a new team and the desire to find new horizons. These are the ingredients of Bit 2012, the International Tourism Exchange to be held from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th February 2012 at fieramilano. Increasingly international horizons, focus on strategic training issues, more centred business opportunities – these are the main elements of the event that opens to trade and public with its compelling new formula, full of interest.

“New Bit, New Business”: The banner headline of the 32nd edition of BIT sums up the event’s key turning point. BIT 2012 directs its attention to the trade operators, the travel agents and their needs, to make sure that every possible type of business is investigated and developed.  so more time will be dedicated to planning meetings, describing offers and reflecting on ideas that grow out of face-to-face exchange and discussion.

This will be made possible by the new Tourism Collection, an area dedicated this year exclusively to trade, open from 16th to 18th February (last day closing at 4.30 pm). It will be the ideal environment for exchanges between operators and all other professionals connected with the world of tourism. The “classic” areas of Italy and The World, dedicated respectively to the Italian regions and to international destinations, will be open from 16th to 19th February to the trade (9.30 am to 6.30 pm) and at the weekend also to the travelling public. Completing the offer, we have BIT Technology, dedicated to the world of technology for tourism online and offline, CRS, HRS and tour operators online.

BIT will have a packed programme of opportunities for operators. In particular, on 17th and 18th February at BIT BuyItaly, where the ‘product Italy’ is marketed, 2000 selected sellers will meet 500 exclusive top international buyers, directly chosen by BIT from over 50 nations, to discover together the new opportunities of incoming Italian tourism: from transport to real estate, and from hospitality to tour operating. The BIT BuyClub workshop will dedicate a whole day, 16th February, to European group travel operators, who with competence and passion guide their members towards the best choices. Over 200 domestic and international sellers, selected from tour operators, travel agencies and marketing consortia will meet 100 domestic and international buyers and clubs from 11 countries.

What’s more, BIT offers exhibitors the possibility of inviting the best top clients from central and southern Italy, through BIT. To make attendance at the event truly unique and fruitful, for exhibitors too, BIT puts numerous facilities at their disposal, including a double hotel room included in the application fee. So everyone can come to do business at BIT in comfort and at the right price.

But the meeting and business opportunities are not confined to the show. BIT offers operators countless contact and matching tools online, first and foremost, the innovative permanent community that will host information and multimedia videos, to make the relationship between operators and businessmakers before and after the show stronger and more effective. Also, on pre-registration, operators can access their meeting diary, so they can immediately begin getting and giving information on products and offers.

BIT is also present on the main social networks, to further complete and broaden on a global scale all possible contacts with key players and issues of the event.

On the subject of communication, the International Tourism Exchange has chosen Expansion to run the BIT 2012 advertising campaign and give wider visibility to their domestic and international public. Special attention continues to be given to the media – always interested in holidays and travel – which BIT has always encouraged to write on the most important trends and novelties.

The previous edition of BIT was covered by over 3300 newspaper articles and 170 TV broadcasts. The event’s strong media attraction is quantified in the current value of its brand – 2 and a half million Euro – definitive proof that it is a date not to be missed by all operators.
