bmi becomes first British airline to recommence full operations at Heathrow

British Midland International (bmi), the second largest carrier at London Heathrow is the first British carrier to resume its full flying programme at the airport.

The second runway at Heathrow has now returned to full capacity and bmi is operating its full flight schedule this afternoon, Wednesday 22 December.

Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, bmi Chief Executive Officer, said: “Our primary focus is helping our many UK and international customers affected by the disruption get to their destinations as soon as possible.

“The Christmas holidays are an important time as people travel the world to be with their loved ones. Our valued customers are thanked for their patience and understanding during what has been a very challenging time.”

The airline will continue to operate its normal flight schedule over the coming days and will put on extra flights when necessary to transport disrupted customers to their destinations.
