MUNICH. Tourists with special needs is a market which holds much interest and good prospects for Greece.

At the C-B-R 2000<.> tourism show in Munich, the German travel agent Mare Nostrum<.> presented packages for German tourists with special needs interested in visiting Greece or Cyprus.

The Greek packages cover Halkidiki and Athens. Specifically, two eight-day trips are offered – in Halkidiki with accommodation at Porto Sani Village from April 29-May 6 this year, and Athens with accommodation at Kalamaki Beach from May 24-31. Each costs 2,800 marks per person. A third option involves 15 days in Halkidiki from July 1-15 at a cost of 5,895 marks.

The 15-day Cyprus package includes accommodation at Nicosia`s St Raphael Resort from May 10-24, costing 5,540 per person.

Cronus Airlines is the chosen carrier for the Greek packages and Cyprus Airways for Cyprus, with all departures from Frankfurt.

Michael Geiss, who heads package organisation, told TDN that there are around 2.5 million Germans with special needs and a lot of them are prepared to stay at top-class hotels during their holidays so that all of their requirements are met.
