If Europe is the world`s fastest growing source market for cruise products, Germany is the country with the highest potential. How the cruise lines and the distribution network plan to open up the European market will be one major theme of the 2003 conference at Seatrade Europe.

Destination Europe for cruise tourism took a knock after September 2001. As the fleet returns, what new deployment strategies for the region will now be considered by the lines?

Following the slow down in new orders for cruise vessels in 2002, what are the prospects for shipyards and suppliers?

New cruise vessels for delivery in 2003/04 will open new boundaries in design and technology, in on-board amenities and culinary standards. Much of this development stems from European expertise. The Hamburg conference will examine the advances in all these areas.

Small cruise vessels and mega-yachts have a strong following in North Europe. What is driving this luxury end of the cruise industry?

The European ferry industry has undergone a period of consolidation and has emerged with new strategies to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. How the sector in North Europe is meeting those challenges with new tonnage and new routes will be under the spotlight at Seatrade Europe.

Operators are constantly under pressure to ensure that their vessels meet latest safety requirements and the effects of political decisions on the ferry sector will be discussed.

The European river cruise industry is undergoing the kind of lift off that ocean cruising went through in the eighties: new high quality vessels, expanding itineraries, a broadening source market and corporatisation and consolidation amongst the lines. Seatrade Europe is established as the foremost meeting place for the river cruise industry worldwide, and an expanded programme of sessions devoted to all facets of the river cruise industry will be included in the 2003 Seatrade Europe programme.
