The number of transported CSA<.> passengers increased by 8.4% in the first half year and all natural indicators showed a positive trend as well.



A fairly high growth rate in the number of transported passengers continued in the second quarter of this year. During the first six months CSA transported 1,439,050 passengers, representing the increase of 8.4% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. A higher than 8% increase in the number of transported passengers is a very satisfying resuit for us, considering the global situation in civil aviation and also in comparison with our closest competitors in AEA, adds Dan Plovajko, Director, Public Relations, CSA.



The growth in the number of CSA passengers in regular transport reached even 11%, while the number of passengers of other airlines operating regularly to/from Prague decreased by 4.4% CSA` s share in the regular air transport from / to Prague increased from 52.9% in January – June 2001 to 56.7% in Jan and – June 2002.



Other monitored natural indicators showed a positive growth as well. Cargo and mail transport grew by 6.7 percent to 8,377 tons. The seat load factor increased to 70.4%.



Costs are under control and the economy is developing as expected.



The economic result for the first six months is just 13 million crowns lower than planned adds Dan Plovajko, Director, Public Relations, CSA.
