Delta is grateful for the perseverance and commitment of the U.S. and French Governments to finalize this agreement. We applaud the members of both delegations who made this day possible through their hard work. This new accord, coupled with the recent U.S. Department of Transportation approval of antitrust immunity to transatlantic SkyTeam partners Delta, Air France, Alitalia and CSA, represents a major leap forward for international customers, said Scott Yohe, Delta`s senior vice president-government affairs. This will make SkyTeam a more competitive alliance, Yohe added.
As a result of the new U.S.-France agreement, Delta and Air France may offer an unlimited number of flights between the two countries. When combined with the grant of antitrust immunity, Delta and Air France can provide customers with additional benefits such as synchronized flight schedules to improve connections at our hubs, consistency in travel-related amenities such as frequent flyer and lounge programs, and coordinated inventory control for better connecting flight seat availability.
Delta and Air France offer codeshare services on a number of transatlantic flights operated between the U.S and France. This new accord allows Delta and Air France, along with their SkyTeam partners, Aeromexico, Alitalia, CSA Czech Airlines, and Korean Air Lines, to further their combined goal of creating the world`s greatest international airline alliance.
