Diverse exhibitor representation continues to grow as EIBTM welcomes a DMC from Myanmar (Burma) exhibiting for the very first time. Following a visit to the show last year, the company ‘Adventure Myanmar’ believes that EIBTM is “the effective event for the incentive market” and the place to secure new business opportunities.

Adventure Myanmar is to focus on presenting the country’s diversity for incentive itineraries including ancient temples, exotic beaches, majestic mountains, and the cultural centre of Mandalay. Their plans are to make Hosted Buyers and trade visitors aware of their infrastructure, simple visa processing, transportation and luxury hotels, while emphasising the legendary warmth and hospitality of the Myanmar people.

Mr Zarni Htwe, General Manager, Adventure Myanmar Tours & Incentives, sums up his EIBTM objectives: “We believe no other destination offers the opportunity to create a truly memorable and rewarding cultural experience for an incentive, whilst at the same time providing all the facilities and a professional service. It is our first participation and we see EIBTM as one of the important events for the meetings and incentives industry because of the quality of the buyers attending and business prospects offered. We would like to invite all Hosted Buyers and visitors who are interested in Myanmar to discover what we can offer. Myanmar is like no other place on earth.”

Other first time main stand holders in their own right include the major European cities such of Munich and Birmingham – previously they participated on the German and Visit Britain pavilions respectively. Both destinations have concluded that an individual representation will help them to achieve greater visibility. EIBTM will also welcome Prestige Hotels of the World as a first time exhibitor this year and the return of Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, both of which will contribute to the growth of representation from global hotel groups. The expansion of the Asian section at EIBTM will be further supported by the confirmation of China’s participation for the first time on a stand of 100 sqm.

Already contracted onto larger stands are Argentina, Sweden, PromPeru, Croatia, the city of Vilnius (Lithuania) and Intercontinental Hotel Group. Chile has increased it’s stand size by 15O per cent due to the full participation of Chile Tourism returning to EIBTM this year, and the Dominican Republic Tourist Office have just confirmed a 25% stand size increase.

The floor plan for EIBTM 2007 will see improvements to benefit exhibitors, Hosted Buyers and visitors while continuing to deliver the best business opportunities for all. A dedicated Mediterranean area will feature within the Europe section and the addition of a third Hosted Buyer lounge on the show floor will provide increased refreshment and networking opportunities for the expected 10% increase in strictly qualified Hosted Buyer attendance.

The Fira Gran Via venue in Barcelona, Spain will be home to EIBTM from 27th-29th November 2007.
