With the news that rail travel may be disrupted over Easter after signal workers voted in favour of strikes, easyBus are highlighting that its low cost airport transfer services are a sensible alternative to train travel from London to and from London’s major airports.
Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) officials said on Friday 19th March that 54% of its members backed action in a dispute over proposed job cuts and the union refused to rule out the possibility of a national strike – which would be the first for 16 years – taking place over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Maintenance workers from the RMT have already voted to strike, and it is possible that maintenance and signal staff could strike together. The RMT executive will meet again today to consider its next action, but the union is understood to be giving Network Rail time to consider negotiations.
